Shire of West Arthur

Situated 204km south of Perth and 115km east of Bunbury, the Shire of West Arthur is nestled between the forests of the south-west and the wheatbelt to the west.  Darkan is the main town and administrative centre with a number of smaller localities and settlements scattered through-out the Shire.

At 2580 sq.km it is one of the larger shires in the area and is home to Lake Towerrinning, clear dark skies, unique flora and abundant wildlife.  Our significant historical buildings are some of the best preserved examples in the region.
